THINGS WE HOLD ON TO

An illustrated project

What are the items you value the most? The items you keep in a drawer or perhaps a special little box, that you don't really need but still hold on to. That you would try and rescue in case of a fire, or take with you when moving house. Perhaps they don't have any monetary value at all, but you still feel connected to them. The items that you would use to describe yourself and your history.

Things we hold on to is an ongoing project by illustrator Oda Margrethe Lilleaasen. It is about collecting the materialistic essence of a person and displaying it. You can tell a lot about a person from the items that matter to them. Some people may not have many such possessions at all, and some people can't ever let go in fear of losing the memories. You can see where they have been in their life, what they have experienced and who are important to them. There is always a story to tell.

If you would like to be a part of the project, you can send an email to thingsweholdonto@gmail.com containing a photograph of your 3-10 precious items along with a story or description of why they are important to you.

Please also include your age and gender, and state if you would like to remain anonymous or have your name included.
